This correspondende concerns the Doble-Detroit steam automobile. It came pinned together with a Doble-Detroit brochure.

The letter is dated Decenber 24, 1918 and is addressed to a Mr. McLacklan in Wellington. The connection between McLacklan and Stewart is not clear, but Stewart's writing is found on the back of one page reads The steam engine and boiler which drives [sic] the Stanley Car is . . . . The letter makes reference to the company's inabilitiy to make foreign shipments and it is unclear if McLacklan wished to buy a single car or become a dealer.
