One of 19 new makes of steam buggy in 1900, the Howard was typical of its kind. A 2-cylinder vertical engine, single chain drive, tubular frame, tiller steering, wire wheels – all these features were found on other designs, including the most successful of the breed, the Locomobile.[1]
