In the spring of 1972, Edward M. Ashley built this steam car, featuring a propane fired boiler and a vertical stationary steam engine mounted over the front axle.
This April 27, 1972 Cleveland Plain Dealer press photograph features Edward M. Ashley's Steam Car. It was one of a host of such home made steam cars that was to have solved the air polution problem.
